Snapshot:

In 2010 a group of parents founded Padres Organizados por la Educacion en Sunset Park (POESP), in order to build relationships with local public schools and educate other parents regarding their rights in a new school system. Over the last 3 years, POESP has organized with and supported over 30 immigrant parents to become leaders and advocates for better educational opportunities in public schools. 

With a new administration in New York City, now is a great opportunity for previously marginalized parents and students to organize and bring their concerns to the table.
