NYCoRE Conference update
PARCEO participated on two panels at the NYCORE conference on March 16, 2013: “Addressing Structural Inequality Through Student Assignment and Admissions Policies” and “180 Days Well Spent: Parents and Teachers United”. Many came and discussed how educators and parents can come together and support one another in organizing for educational justice, whether it is fighting for equitable and fair student assignment plans that serve all children and families, or how communities envision and fight for schools that reflect and respect them. For the “180 Days” screening, the video was loved and well received! Many educators and parent activists hope to use the video in their communities and schools to help organize around issues they face in their communities.
